Soap Mags–Newest Soaps In Depth.

Lori has been kind enough to share this with us about the latest SID (Soaps In Depth).  Thought you’d like the info and maybe you can go out and grab one. It’s not often I promote a mag–but this issue looks like a good one. SID is by the way, bi-weekly and covers either ABC or CBS soaps “indepth”. I like it because when I pick up the ABC issue, it’s filled with just MY soaps!

Kate Fans: The special article in the new SID is a 4 page spread showing all of
Megan Ward’s ad campaigns from the 80s when she was a working model. Most of
which are from when she was working in Japan. Absolutely beautiful.

Ethan Fans: There is an eye opening article about his association with the Boom
Kat Dance Theater in Santa Monica. He’s been doing musical theater for the past
3 years. Yes he dances, which he says is his passion, and sings. Here’s what
kind of freaked me out. In a lot of the photos he has his hair pulled back into
a pony tail and he’s been shot in profile…. he looks just like Ashton Kutcher!
It gives me the heebee jeebees

Scott Clifton Fans: There is a great 4 page spread showing his home in NY now
that he is on OLTL. It looks pretty cozy (and neat) for a bachelor LOL

I have to say that if you are going to spend your money on a magazine pick up
SID. (I just let my subscription to SOD go after 20 years.)  The new magazine
has Carly and Claudia featured in the main picture with Solivia, JaSam, and JMB
in smaller photos around the edge.

SID has a Twitter account too. They are very good at answering/tweeting back and forth too! it is @soapsindepthabc  (Or @soapsindepthcbs if you watch CBS)

Karaoke Success, RS News and Soap Opera Hangover

 

Geesh, we’re like deprived kids getting thrown some candy! Watching Friday’s show was great–most of the cast together and smiling. Funny stuff happening. See, is that SO HARD? If GH would just do this more often…and I don’t mean just the singing part–put people together, it might have a dang shot. Plus, Diane and Max are back! Why do they let characters just fade into the background? Love Lucky and Ethan at the same table…glowering at each other. Even the PPCD was interesting.

Robin Strasser update: She was asked by FRONS (head of ABC Daytime) to “postpone” her decision until he’s back from vacation in eight days. Uh…ok. You think he’s robbing a Swiss Bank or trying to win the lotto to pay for stuff? Heh. She was asked to take something like a 60% pay cut. RS is also VERY vocal about daytime on her radio show. The plot thickens, my friends.

I saw FISH (Scott Evans)  in “Shopaholic” last night. Loved the book..thought the movie was so-so. Got me thinking though..would a storyline involving Maxie being a shopaholic have been great? Or at least her going into debt. Come on, she can’t make that much at the non-existant “Crimson”.

One Life To Live, A/ABC — Breaking news: Will Strasser quit today?
• Dark Friday? One Life superstar Robin Strasser (Dorian) is expected to quit her Emmy-winning role early this evening. In an updated hotline (212-414-5300) recording yesterday, Strasser informed her listeners that she will have a “big announcement” today around 5 p.m. From the sound of Strasser’s tone, it doesn’t sound promising, kids. However, Strasser gives fans hope by hinting that, “a very heroic figure on the horizon whom I love and respect” is on her side and asked her yesterday to delay her announcement for 24 hours to see what he could do.

SO, guess we have to wait and see! Interesting–I think that Daytime is just evaporating.

Trouble at Port Charles Country Club involving Michael will cause Sonny to throw his weight around. Kristina and Keiferfight, leaving her driving on the road same time as Michael and Claudia. Claudia, who by the way, just found out SONNY IS THE FATHER–gets hit. Who hits her? Michael or Kristina? Well, Michael gets arrested for it. Sam doesn’t think it’s really him though. No concrete word on whether or not Claudia loses the baby. They’ve given themselves some time to decide–she’ll be in GH for a bit. Probably a day in soap time, 4 weeks in ours. Ha. Only kidding.

Not alot of information in this crop of spoilers about Nikolas and Rebecca, btw. Only that Ethan is growing more and more jealous of the Prince.

Greg Vaughn tweeted that he was NOT put on recurring, despite many rumors out there. But he did concede that he ‘may as well be’. All the GHers that are on twitter are telling about their days off. Brandon Barash was in Miami…NLG has gone to the movies and Sarah Brown to concerts.

I’m hoping the writers are taking time off too!

But does it really matter? I am hating AMC right now. Watching Jessie cover up for that idiot Randi was it for me. I won’t watch for awhile. LOL Plus that guy that got killed and his wife? Well, it had more lead up than the Mayor Floyd/Mistress thing but it’s still like :HUH?!

OLTL: Sure I wanted to see the wedding.  Like that they had some good Physical therapy scenes. Really like Sean and the story – BUT that new guy (the doctor/brother) could have been Real Andrews. He would have been PERFECT for the role! Vicky and Clint’s relationship is awesome too.  Tea’s dress is fabush! Marco’s “iron on tie” is so stupid looking.

Heh, Vicky called Clint a “Gigantic Ass”… heh. Nice friendship with Sky and Rachael too. CAST INTEGRATION. thank you. Clint said “hot dog”….Sky said “hot dog”..

GENERAL HOSPITAL: AGAIN, the ‘temporary license’ think is JUST NOT real. Doesn’t happen. You can get one if you have a valid OUT of state or country license until you get YOUR OWN. Plus, no one else can get you anything. Sonny is actually being SANE????? Oh, this is a big stupid STUPID thing. “Temporary License”…pfft.

DOMte certainly looks WAY TOO OLD to be LLC’s son. I’m used to suspending belief for things but this? They are 9 years apart IRL..and barely look it!!!!! He and Brandon Barash are 6 months apart in real life. How old is Dante supposed to be on the show? If she had him at 16 or 17, he’s what? 24? THERE’S no way he’s 24–unless Olivia is supposed to be 43 or 44? I don’t know. :throws up  hands:

I really wish I had better spoilers for you. I wish I could say there’s more to come than baby cramping, bullets, accidents “on the run fun” and bickering. But I can’t Blanche. Sonny will be going after another woman AGAIN…Claudia will try to hold on to her man by any means possible–and the rest? Sigh. Murder mystery that’s as boring as drying paint. Now, I’m happier than hell it’s not MOB related but come on. I really wish they had kept Kin Shriner around to do this. I know people like Martha Byrne but why not build the story a bit before just dropping it in our laps. Having Scrubs be pseudo-investigators (and Alexis actually listening to them instead of say, MAC) is just a riot. I would just write it all way differently. I think Spin and Maxie may be good, I sure hope so. They are going to have a nice rooftop romance with some comedy mixed in soon.  I also bet that it takes at least 3 months for Sonny to find out that Dom is Dante.

MJ’s Memorial…

I really liked it and didn’t expect to. I’m kinda in tears here. Maya Angelou’s poem was just beautiful. I really don’t care if people don’t think the tribute is needed or over the top, I felt like it was a great way for all of us to be together for awhile and just BE NICE. We need way more of that.

 Stevie Wonder was so great. Everyone in yellow which is such a sunshine and hopeful color.  LOVED Magic Johnson’s “Kentucky Fried Chicken” story. LOL.

OLTL–Ok, if Rex and Schyler don’t end up being BROTHERS, I will scream. They are SO MUCH ALIKE!! They totally could be too, because we know zip about Sky’s Dad. Gigi looked fabu today. WHO SAW REX CHUGGING DISH SOAP!!!? brahahahahaa! Loved it. Starr/Cole wedding–not sure how I feel about this. I really wanted Marcie to have the baby. They’d better make this a realistic raising a baby story. But, alas, I don’t think they shall! Todd must have had some happy juice today!

As of right now, it’s starting at 1pm/est. This MAY CHANGE however. These are the NETWORKS covering the event so far. I am mentioning it because it will impact the soaps–but how much, can’t tell yet. There’s always ABC.com and SoapNet to watch what we’ve missed! Wonder what the ratings will be? LOL

Also, I see down on my last posting a Canadian fan said OLTL was picked up by another Canadian station! woo hoo! I’m SO HAPPY.  I was worried.

Two more ex-GHers on Twitter. @Vanessa_Marcil (Brenda) just joined and @chadbrannon (Zander) tweeted that he and Kin Shriner caught up this weekend in LA! Seemed like all the soapies watched fireworks last night. Brandon Barash reported seeing them in Chinatown.

A juicy new rumor just came across the Wubbly path: Can Stavros be coming back when Mama Cass does? After all, he only fell into a pit–that doesn’t stop a Cassadine! With TG being captive, maybe we’ll see RKK show back up! Then again, Ted King was supposedly rumored to come back as well. Is the PR department working overtime to get some BUZZZZZZZZZZ going for this show? hmmmm.
