Matt got this clip up of Laura in 1996, interesting contrast to today. LOOK: LAURA BTW, full fleged Bat-Blueberry mode going on! LOL
I have to say the following about the clip:
Monica’s hair! LOL; Tyler Christopher is skinny! Kat/Bat (The Crystal Trees!), wow, there used to be money for EXTRAS… love Shell; Bobbie was not liking Laura at that point. Remote Cameras! Wow..minorities on the show! Hey, NLG looks really young! I MISS LUCY! (Lucy was Tracy back then, kinda)
I feel like Guza created the Cassadines, had a vested interest in them until he got all mobular consummed and now is going with all that. Writers get credit per character, btw. He’s had a slew of them come and go!
Will Genie come back? Well, she’s said they are ‘house hunting’ in Beverly Hills, but who knows. I bet she shows up for a sweeps again *sigh* or MAYBE they’ll hammer out some kind of deal for her in the meantime when they see ratings go even lower after she’s gone. You have NO IDEA how much I hope this next “mobulitious” installment (kidnapping crap) goes flat. I mean, TANKS. Neilson families out there, we are counting on you!!
PS. I watched AMC and OLTL…well 45 min of OLTL. The baby thing has all kinds of holes but boy, it sure is ’soapy’!! And GO Marty!

Thanks so much for the clip site, Karen. Wow. Didn’t watch the show then, but seeing it was great fun. And thanks to being filled in on what happened to Leslie, I actually understood part of it. LOL
Soap plots are sooo great; any resembleance to reality is purely mistaken. Hee hee hee.
Actually Genie is on record as having moved back to their old house in Beverly Hills as of the first of September. She did not sell her Maine house but is living fulltime in LA and the children are in school there. There’s no reason not to give her a contract and have some drama on GH that does not consist of a child being shot in the head and Sonny unloading a round of bullets, closeup, into another character. So tired of the Sonny/Carly/Jason/Sam show. We need the contrast and depth and acting superiority of all the vets in well fleshed out stories over several weeks. Ah, the GH of old.
Well, I watched Laura leave… Guza never did get the Luke and Laura story….and continues to tell us Tracy is best for Luke….as I said before….I love Tracy…but not with Luke…. Laura and Luke were too lame in their time together this time around – the have a great love….and all Guza did was allude to it. I am sure Guza will have Luke and Tracy working on their marriage now…..after all that is what he – Guza – wants….and some of the viewers who never experienced the Luke and Laura saga, will go for it like they do with all the other nonsense on the show right now. That’s too bad!
Let me know when Laura is back on the show! I look forward to that….maybe, just maybe…TPTB will finally get what actually worked on GH!
Been a loyal watcher of GH for MANY years, and I can truly say that I enjoyed todays show! Just wish they would keep Genie Francis on, and let the Spencer family have some screen time. We need the GH of old back. I too am so tired of the mob storylines. We need to get back to families and relationships on this show. Thanks so much for your website, I enjoy reading your comments as well.
Just finished watching GH. Been a loyal fan 40+ years (I started young). All I could think of today, was it was very OZ-Like, with the Wizard (Laura) giving them all advice. Which one was the Scarecrow? Lucky? the Cowardly Lion was Lulu, and the TinMan was Nicholas. Luke was the wizard that did not get to go back to Kansas!
I agree, the mob stuff has got to go. We need new storywriters.
Just finished watching today’s episode in near tears. Stupid stupid Guza. He set up great scenes with Jane Elliot and Genie Francis, and for the most part, Genie with the other actors, but where is Denise Alexander? Where is Jackie Zeman?
::sighs:: I guess there goes my GH watching, for now.
Luke and Laura put daytime TV at the forefront almost 30 years ago. They still rock today except for one thing–the head writer on GH doesn’t want it to happen. Their ratings are the lowest ever-the mob thing is too tired, when Luke and LAura were together there was love, excitement, sexual intesity, longing, adventure and most of all HIGH ratings. GH was number one. Now it’s just a Sonny rehash of the mob. What a joke! I tune in only when Luke and Laura are together, usually once a year when they want some high ratings they summons Genie to spark some interest. Tracy Q a femme fatale–NOT in this life. Luke is a wild character and needs a woman like Laura-not Grandma Tracy with thos Big Shirts on.
I love Luke and Laura…they are my all time fave, but i think the writers do have it right….Luke loves Laura and Laura loves Luke, but Luke did change and Tracey is right for him now….I actually, dont shoot me fans happen to now like laura with scotty….i think that it is important for fans to realize that in life things change….Luke and Laura will always be the crowd pleaser and always be in love, but if Luke left tracey to be with Laura….i truly feel that he would long for Tracey….Tracey and Luke now in 2008 belong together…also, if the writers didnt put this point out there…what would be in life??? when people break up or are MIA’ed and the other one left behind finds someone new and falls in love and suddenly mr. or ms. wonderful reappears the new love is just dumped…no, that isnt right either…. I think it is more realistic and actually the better story line for Tracey and Luke to be together…and perhaps Scotty and Laura could cut it now…remember she did love scotty at one time….and scotty has always been true to his love for her….I will always love Luke and Laura always, but i truly do not see them together now…..he is way more interesting with tracey
omg i watched the clip and stephano is actually sooooo gorgeous…omg….
Luke and Laura belong together. I think in the world we have today, it is important to show that “love” does survive even with the changes that occur in in the lives of both spouses. I think it is important to show the people who “lose” themselves in “soap operas” as realities that love is worth “fighting” for and the committment made with wedding vows are not just words. Luke and Laura portray those things. Whenever they are apart, for whatever reason, they find their way back to eachother and that committment of love they made so long ago. I think it is important to have at least one shining beacon out there to help show the people who lose themselves daily in soap operas that love is enduring and does last and above all marriage is something that has it bumps, hills and sometimes mountains, but like any bump or crimp has to be smoothed out and sometimes that takes “elbow grease” committment and remembering the love that brought you there in the first place.
Tracy has softened her character and I don’t find her as interesting. I think she and Luke are fine for a short run because of both their “conniving ways,” but I don’t think that although they genuinely are in “like” it is not the love that I am looking for in my daily “escape” to another world. I am looking for the “love” that Luke and Laura had and still have. I am looking for the adventuresome souls they have and still have. It doesn’t have to be a steady diet of intrigue and adventure, but peppered in here and there is fine.
Scott, belongs with Tracy’s personality, not Laura and I don’t see how a “mother” such as Laura could even entertain the thought of getting together with Scott. His inherent traits won’t change and he is not the one for her.
I guess what I am looking for is at least one set of characters to show people that life is not always easy and not to take the easy way out by jumping to another spouse when the going gets tough and above all I believe in the love that Luke and Laura had and still do and I believe that is should be allowed to grow and prosper.
