IT’S THE MOST OF CHRISTMAS PAST AS SOAPNET CELEBRATES THE SEASON WITH THREE CLASSIC HOLIDAY EPISODES OF “GENERAL HOSPITAL,” AIRING DECEMBER 25 FROM 8P – 11P
After a long day of presents, eggnog and fruitcake, SOAPnet invites viewers to celebrate the season by relaxing and revisiting the best GENERAL HOSPITAL Christmas episodes with “The Most of Christmas Past” marathon, airing December 25 from 8P – 11P ET/PT on SOAPnet.
Kirsten Storms (Maxie Jones) and Bradford Anderson (Damien Spinelli) will host holiday-themed interstitials throughout the marathon.
List of Episodes:
8PM – General Hospital Episode #1996-8637 (original air date 12/24/96) – Sonny helps out by taking over as a Christmas tree salesman; Jax and Brenda spend the holiday together and Jason shares special Christmas wishes with Lila and Robin.
9PM – General Hospital Episode #1998-9151 (original air date 12/24/98) – Lucky and Liz say they love each other for the first time and then exchange gifts with Nikolas and Emily; Monica asks Edward to play Santa and Alan to read the Christmas story at the hospital party.
10PM – General Hospital Episode #2004-10689 (original air date 12/24/04) – Ric and Alexis are rescued from the woods in time to celebrate Kristina’s Christening with Sonny and Carly; Emily shares Christmas dinner with Nikolas, who’s in jail.
PS–Kirsten Storms and Bradford have some sweet/fun commericals airing on SoapNet to promote this! I really want to see the first two of these. Someone that knows how to YouTube (Matt, that would be you) could help the Wubbers who don’t have SoapNet!! 
This makes you realize just what it is we have lost.
How great would it be to see Cameron visiting Gran this Christmas? Jason bringing Jake to visit Edward and Monica with host Alan sitting in his chair. Maybe Bobbie has the Spencer clan over for turkey and invites Epiphany along so she won;t be alone. Uncle Spinelli playing with Emma at Mac’s while Maxie shows Robin all the latest in baby fashion.

It is more likely that Guza will have Liz’s car crash on an icy road with Jake and Cam in the back seat, Sonny throws a poinsetta through a window when Carly and Kate refuse to group whoopie, a Christmas Tree falls over on Emma, Lulu runs around town screaming that she did not get enough presents, Tracey wakes up to find Luke has left her on Christmas morning, Nicholas is being deported when his plane crashes or Big Alice is exposed as a mob queen when she blows up the Q Mansion on Christmas Day. How come when I read “Christmas Past” I immediately went to the days when Steve Hardy read the Christmas Story with little Robin on his knee, and Tony Jones dressed as Santa? Or, Laura and Scotty hanging their ornament on their first (and last?) Christmas together?
Alas the only one of the episodes listed worth watching, for me, is the 9:00 one from 1998 (now, is Jonathan Jackson still Lucky in that one?)
BarbE, you might also want to check out the 8pm show too. You’ll be shocked how BEARABLE (even….LIKABLE) the character of Sonny Corinthos is.
Then again, the way Guza’s been writing him since the Labines left, might have tainted him forever…
I am super excited about the 8pm one with Sonny selling the Christmas trees! He was so cute that episode and as an SnBer, I loved the exchange between Sonny and Brenda at the lot.
I miss the Labine’s and their writing.

As of right now my DVR is out so (unless Santa comes early this year), I won’t be able to record the Christmas specials. I will keep an eye out on some of my friends’ youtube channels though and I can almost guarantee one of them will catch these classic Christmas eppys.
I’m a little disappointed though, that they didn’t choose Luke’s 2003 ‘A Christmas Carol’ episode for this lineup. It was so great to see the Cassadines return as the ghosts of Christmas past, present, etc. I still can’t find the complete episode anywhere. Ah well, maybe one day.
Lovin the blogs!! Completely ignoring GH! lol I’ve been catching up with a November Sweeps from years past on youtube named ‘The Cartel’. Robert, Anna, Faison, Sean, Tiffany, etc. Can’t beat that! I’ve been filling GH hour in with these. Since Laura’s left it’s been totally boring, imo.

I have been watching GH for almost 20 years. I have read every published report of Sonny and Carly, every interview with Maurice Bernard and every criticism of all the different actors that have portrayed Carly. Given this, there is no way that anyone can deny that this show was at its all time best when Maurice and Tamara Braun were portrayed as a loving Sonny and Carly. Luke and Laura had their rein, but the fact that the writers continue to pair Maurice with different actresses, those who portray Carly today, or actresses that have a different role, will never show case this couple as it should. When Maurice and Tamara acted together they far surpassed Luke and Laura. Figure it out writers, lure back Tamara from AMC, take a clue from Victor and Niki on Y & R and realize before the head honchos from ABC pull the plug on GH daytime due to poor ratings (ie., poor couples) that to make magic work you have to have the right magic. Sonny and Carly — Maurice and Tamara — truly the exception and the savior to GH.
Does anyone know where the navy/black sequined T-Shirt came from Kirsten in wearing in the commercials for this?

My dream Christmas would be:
Luke leaves Tracey for Laura with Laura coming home by Christmas, making her home beautiful as always, hanging her Star. Lucky/Liz become a couple again. Have a classic reunion of L&L, Robert/Holly, Anna/Duke, Tiffany/Sean all meet up for a Christmas Dinner with all their children, grandchildren and Leslie. Having Helena and Stavros Cassadine lurking in the background of Windmere, starting another adventure for all! With them holding Stefan who has eyes only for his Lasha still! The Game Begins
Then with others in PC, having a Q Christmas and the reading of the Christmas story at the hospital by Edward with the ghost of Allen behind him.
Let Jax, Sonny, Carly, Alexis have a Christmas with all Sonny’s children and having Michael regain his life. With of course Mike at the table and Lady Jane!
