As usual, on Sunday I try to round up all the goodies and fun stuff about GH that are out there! Friday started off the ROCK The cruise with Soap Stars. The Scrubs Hub reports that Jason Thompson was on board lookin “fine”… I’m sure we’ll get more dish when the cruise is over.
I’m going to talk about the EXTRAS today. You know, the little things that make soaps so fun. How about people? Big Alice seems to be one of the few left. She’s on maybe once a month? Milo and Max have been shoved to the background again. Mercedes is supposedly Emma’s nanny soon. I personally hope the extras get more airtime. That’s how Diane started–and look how much she adds to the canvas! Another one I miss? Remember Marty? The always suffering under Carly Metro Court desk clerk, Marty. He’s played by Andrew Lee. I hear he’s part of the budget cuts. I guess Olivia is our “Metro Link” now. Sorry…get rid of some of the “special huge effects” and give us our PEOPLE back! I remember Penny the waitress from Kelly’s…she filled in for Liz all the time. I tell you what, you never know where your next gem is hiding unless you have some extras to tie the canvas together. (Elton anyone?) BTW, Kasey and other WUBBERS love Tony Daly as Brad. Likeable and cute!

I was fascinated by Winnie’s messenger bag with the skull the other day. I thought it was a fun touch. Being the prop geek that I am, I did some snooping and it’s actually from the Disney line from Pirates!
Speaking of PROPS….let’s talk about the BUBBLE LAMP, shall we? As you’ll notice, there’s a clear bubble lamp that follows people all over the states and PC. First it’s in Carly and Jax’s house, then all the way in LA at the “hotel” and someone sharp spotted it at the Metro Court’s Honeymoon Suite!! It may also hover at Scrubs house too. It DOES get more airtime than Monica or Edward, that’s for dang sure. Keep an eye out for it.
As for the ratings, ASHP commented:
I believe the reason why GH went up slightly this week is because of the
Sonny/Carly/Michael promo. The highest rated day was the Sonny & Carly hug day
at Michael’s bedside. You can say what you want about Sonny & Carly, but they
do effect ratings and usually in a good way. GH rose slightly this week, but
it’s better then where it was heading the week before.
Could be..who knows. We’ll see Michael move soon..a hand. A foot. We’ll probably also see his face pop up now that he’s cast. We’ll be spending WAY more time at his “long term care” facility.
Oh! one more tidbit: The Daytime Emmys are now scheduled for September. Interesting. They’ve moved because no network wanted them! Heh. Let’s see if they can get their act together, move them back to May or June and find a home.

I remember Elton! He was awesome! Not to mention it helped that Lucy was his sidekick. She was a hoot, kind of our Maxie of the 90′s. Love to hate her yet somehow we rooted for her happiness. She was vulnerable like Maxie, too. Back to sidekicks, Elton was kinda like the old butler on OLTL, right? Nigel? Kind of always counted on a laugh. Speaking of Butlers, I thought it waas funny when Alexis posed as a butler at the Q’s. She was kissing Cameron (Zanders dad I believe) when she was dressed as a dude. Too funny. I miss when Alexis was on the forefront. Great actress.
I thought Elton was a decorator? I thought he did Lucy’s wedding. Loved him though.
You know I don’t watch anymore…how can you mention a pirate bag from Disney and a) not show a pic or b) send me the link!

Don’t forget that Bubbles was also in the background of a Jerry Jax video. Pshaw. With mad acting skills that Bubbles has, who needs extras or recurrings?
Oh and how can OLTL afford their extras? And new intros? And legacy characters? Ad revenue? That’s what I don’t understand. Unless of course it’s intentional sabotage to destroy GH to get it off the air.
Oo, love Elton too. And Penny. Also Reginald was a hoot as the Qs butler. Miss not seeing Max and Milo more. Loved the Diane and Max interaction on Friday’s show, would love to see them more. I’d take Marty over Olivia any day. Special effects are the biggest waste on this show. It’s sad that they can’t keep the extras but find the money to destroy old sets and build ‘pretty’ new ones. I sometimes think the ultimate goal of TIIC is to get GH cancelled as well.
Perhaps that’s why they won’t turn on the lights? If it’s dark enough we won’t notice there are no extras?
Scenery! They have a pair of french doors that have been showing up since they were part of Tony Jone’s apartment when he left Bobbie for Carly! Every time they show a new place, there they are!
I thought Elton was only around during Laura’s days at Deception as her personal assistant. I miss him a lot. He was a real hoot and it was great having a gay character on the show to “girl talk” with Laura. hehe I think he did Lucky and Elizabeth’s wedding too, didn’t he? I don’t remember him with Lucy Coe at all! Wonder how I missed that.
Speaking of props, watch the doors. There’s one in particular I still see pop up from time to time and it’s usually red or brown with a brass decorative peephole on it. It’s been around (that I know of) since 1991 during The Cartel storyline. Then it was Carly’s front door to the house Sonny bought her back in 2001, then it became one of the PC Hotel doors, I believe. I’ve seen it pop up fairly recently, though I can’t remember who’s place it’s in.
Don’t forget the Quartermaine staircase that somehow managed to sail over to Spoon Island just in time for the Black&White Ball! And the chair that used to be in Luke’s office at his club was one of the Wyndemere wing chairs during the ball. And watch on the docks for STX shipping crates! Originally, these were being used during the Endgame storyline and STX was the company supplying Hells with biological weaponry, and apparently they’re still in business because you’ll see STX crates show up on the docks and alleys.
Someone really needs to get in touch with the props dept. and tell them to at least paint something to make it look a little different before throwing it into the scenery for the 100th time.
Maybe since it is so dark on the set all of us get togethor and have a telethon to raise money for some flashlights.NOT
I noticed how dark it was too. The whole time Carly was all glammed up she had this shadow on her face like someone turned off a light.
Perhaps the ratings were up because of Spring Break.

Anytime I check out amazon for anything I go through you..I never really buy through Amazon because after shipping usually I can find just as good of deals in the store (without having to wait)…

off topic-OLTL line of the day-Stacey talking to GiGiin the hospital chapel about what it will take to give Shane her bone marrow. Stacey says “It’s not about me, it’s about God” I was waiting for the lightning bolt. I dislike that Stacey. She is pure evil.

Ah, Elton! I still miss that guy. He had no use for the Q’s, but he loved them at the same time. Does anyone know if he still writes for the show? I can’t remember the actor’s name.
