As of right now, it’s starting at 1pm/est. This MAY CHANGE however. These are the NETWORKS covering the event so far. I am mentioning it because it will impact the soaps–but how much, can’t tell yet. There’s always ABC.com and SoapNet to watch what we’ve missed! Wonder what the ratings will be? LOL
Also, I see down on my last posting a Canadian fan said OLTL was picked up by another Canadian station! woo hoo! I’m SO HAPPY. I was worried.
Two more ex-GHers on Twitter. @Vanessa_Marcil (Brenda) just joined and @chadbrannon (Zander) tweeted that he and Kin Shriner caught up this weekend in LA! Seemed like all the soapies watched fireworks last night. Brandon Barash reported seeing them in Chinatown.

A juicy new rumor just came across the Wubbly path: Can Stavros be coming back when Mama Cass does? After all, he only fell into a pit–that doesn’t stop a Cassadine! With TG being captive, maybe we’ll see RKK show back up! Then again, Ted King was supposedly rumored to come back as well. Is the PR department working overtime to get some BUZZZZZZZZZZ going for this show? hmmmm.
Well, see ya tomorrow!

Regarding Michael Jackson, it’s a sad comment on society when people are celebrating the life of a child molester. It seems that people have forgotten what he did to young boys.
How about celebrating the life of Farrah Fawcett?
I am totally for RKK returning as Stavros (though wasn’t that supposed to be a bottomless pit? LOL) I’m also on board for Ted King to return as any Alcazar or if necessary let him return as Stavros! Speaking of Cassadines, couldn’t we just have Hells unfreeze a few from the old Ice Princess days???? Can you imagine Mikkos back after 20+ years?? And Thaao Penghlis is no longer on contract with Days, couldn’t we unfreeze him too? LOL Ok Ok can’t Hells come up with a new crop of Cassadines? Anyone else think this could be more entertaining than the mob-tastic stuff we are waddling through right now?
Chris, although I agree with you, I never really thought he was guilty. I guess I saw him as too childlike himself–I heard 2 recanted as well. I think his music/influence was amazing but I don’t understand the hooplah. I bet Farrah is happy it’s NOT all about her!!
I’d LOVE for the Cassadines to come back full force. We never sussed out Sam as a “full Cassadine” and DAMN IT, I know SKYE IS ONE! LOL
I kinda think all of this media coverage is somewhat over the top….re/MJ…..I’m probably in the minority here but I really wasn’t any big fan of his…..I mean ok so he’s a big celebrity….& his music will live on but life does go on …..in regards to his personal life…(IMO…no offence anyone…)..well , I guess we all have it hard in some way shape or form. Maybe his life would’ve been much different if he wasn’t so famous? Than well ….I guess we could say that of alot of people really…Marilyn Monroe/Elvis/Princess Diana….etc…..maybe they’d all be alive still? or longer……its hard to say….or maybe they’d still went down the same path…..but none of us would’ve known about them? IMO anyway…….in regards to GH I’ll just watch it that night on Soap Net probably…cause I had this feeling that’d probably pre-emt regular programing. I wouldn’t mind having any of the Cassidines back or Ted King /Alcazar…..but not sure how much they/GH can afford right now…..plus if the writing keeps sucking well than we know how these storylines will go…..not good at all…..only time will tell……
Good point brought up… they completely dropped the whole story about who Sam’s daddy really is! Oh that could really be interesting! LOL Especially if daddy turned out to be someone with a lot of power. Ooo it boggles the mind! LOL
and what about the birth certificate that Helena was looking at on the plane? what happened to that?
Chris, I totally agree with you. If he was any ordinary pedophile we wouldn’t hear anything about his death unless he was murdered as revenge. Even though he was acquitted, I believe he did it. Yes, he was childlike, but part of childhood is not realizing what they are doing is wrong. Isn’t it possible that MJ didn’t realize that sexually abusing a child was illegal and immoral? Yes, he did admitt to sleeping in the same bed as little boys, but my gut tells me that his lawyers told him to do so in hopes of getting an acquittal. The same lawyers would have told him not to admitt to anything else.
I cannot believe the networks are giving so much coverage to Michael Jackson. This really makes me wonder where our priorities lie in this country. There is REAL NEWS happening in this world. There is genocide in Darfur. There is a missing soldier in Afhganistan. North Korea is toying with nuclear weapons. Hello people….
There are people doing GOOD things – Peace Corps, Habitat for Humanity, etc.
For the 3 major networks, and countless others, to be focusing almost 2 weeks on the death of an alleged child molestor, is just nuts. I too, am not a fan of MJ – I was when he was a little kid and sang with his brothers – that was the extent of me following him. What’s next – a National Day of Mourning? Please. This is simply ridiculous. No celebrity – not a one – deserves this kind of coverage.
Are banks open tomorrow? Will there be mail or trash collection?
I guess I choose not to believe MJ was guilty. Maybe to protect childhood memories dancing to his music, singing along to the radio and watching MTV. I pray for the sake of those kids that he never did what was accused, but if so those parents of those kids are partially to blame. I mean really? You’re going to let your 9 yr old sleep in bed with a man famous or not? You’re going to let them stay in his home alone and travel around with him too? Without you being there to see what’s going on? Then take his money to stay quiet? That is just as bad if not worse than the offense itself (if one even took place).
Like it or not people, MJ is the Elvis of our generation. He obviously had some deep problems, but wow what a performer! I may be in the minority but I get chills watching him on younger tapes (esp during the moon walk days!) Same w/ hearing the crowd singing “all be there” outside of the staple center today. People just want to thank him for his shared talent.
My heart goes out to the accused for several reasons (including the parents they were born to as well as if they were actually abused).
As for the media covering it way too much, I do agree. Look at what they did w/ Anna Nicole Smith. Aside from being beautiful, she was close to a nobody and they covered it for months! Or look how people still want OJ Simpson’s autograph. It’s our society that’s for sure.
Regardless of whether or not you believe the allegations against MJ, he was not royalty, he was not a president of any country. He was an entertainer. Some liked his music, others did not, but he was an entertainer. And again, regardless of whether or not you believe the allegations, he was a very emotionally disturbed man. He does not deserve to have the type of media coverage that is being bestowed upon him. I live in MA and I don’t recall the death of JFK Jr. being covered this much, for this long a time period. It is a sad statement about society today…Two nights after MJ died the local news covered his death for almost 40 minutes of the hour programming, and there had been NO new developments in the previous 12-24 hours. It is ridiculous…
I just read through a lot of backed up “Tweets.” Just for the record…I believe Brandon Barash was watching fireworks in “ChiTown” (Chicago), and not Chinatown….
